Role overview
This is a permanent, full-time onboard position based in Harwich on the Stena Britannica. You will live and work at sea on a week-on, week-off rotation while supporting the Onboard Sales & Services operation between Harwich and Hook of Holland. The position is suited to someone who is highly organised, accurate, and comfortable working in a practical, fast-moving environment.
The salary for this role is £40,199.04.
What you’ll be doing
You will take ownership of stores and stock control across onboard departments, helping ensure that areas such as the galley, shop, housekeeping, food and beverage, and reception remain well supplied and run efficiently. The role requires close attention to stock movement, supplier coordination, and record keeping.
- Oversee and organise stores for the Onboard Sales & Services teams, including galley, shop, housekeeping, F&B, and reception
- Receive deliveries, check them carefully, and reconcile them against purchase orders
- Keep inventory records current, including stock balances and reporting
- Track minimum and maximum stock thresholds and raise replenishment requests when needed
- Perform routine stock counts and make sure all stock is properly secured and accounted for
- Handle stock rotation, returns, and disposal of excess or damaged items
- Maintain logs for receipts, issues, and stock discrepancies
- Work with suppliers and help maintain positive supplier relationships
- Keep storage spaces clean, well arranged, and compliant with requirements
- Assist with trip planning so stock levels match expected passenger demand

Requirements and qualifications
- Valid STCW certification is required
- Prior experience working at sea is required
- Background in stores, inventory, or supply chain work is expected
- Knowledge of inventory systems and stock control processes is needed
- Comfortable using IT tools, including Microsoft Office and inventory software
- Strong organisational and problem-solving ability
- Capable of physical tasks, including lifting and handling stock
- Forklift certification would be an advantage
- Good written and spoken English; additional languages are beneficial
