Role overview
Amey is recruiting a Stores Person to join the team at HMP/YOI Styal in Wilmslow (SK9 4HR). This is a steady, weekday-based position with set hours and a strong focus on keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.
The position offers a salary of £27,426 and is based on 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 07:45 to 16:30, and Friday from 07:45 to 15:30.
What the job involves
- Overseeing stock levels and handling incoming deliveries
- Distributing items to both staff and prisoners
- Helping maintain inventory control and place replenishment orders
- Supervising prisoners assigned to stores duties
- Collecting supplies from local suppliers when required
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a prison setting and bring basic IT ability. A full UK driving licence is required. Prior experience in a stores, warehouse, or stockroom environment is important. Knowledge of manual handling is useful, though it is not essential.

Security and vetting
