Job description
Role Overview
An established mid-sized consultancy in New Zealand is hiring a Structural Technician for its Hamilton team. The business has recently secured a significant long-term contract and is seeking someone to contribute to exciting structural projects across the country.
What You Will Do
You will support the structural team through BIM-related work, including structural design, drafting for building structures, building design, structural review, certification, and construction management.
The position also involves working in a seismic design environment and producing accurate drawings for projects of varying complexity. There may also be opportunities to collaborate with the civil team on selected assignments.
Experience and Background Needed
To be successful, you should bring a tertiary qualification, ideally in Structural Engineering, along with hands-on experience in a structural design office handling commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
Experience in a consultancy environment is important, as are strong verbal and written communication skills. Practical experience using Revit Structures and AutoCAD is essential.
Eligibility
Applicants must already be based in New Zealand and hold a valid work visa, permanent residency, or New Zealand citizenship.
Qualifications
A Washington Accord degree in Structural Engineering is specified as the preferred qualification.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is NZD 70,000 to NZD 85,000.
