Role overview
This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day shift activities for safe and efficient LPG terminal operations. The role covers truck unloading, tank farm and pump house operations, permit-to-work control, supervision of maintenance and contractor work, monitoring of control room systems, emergency response coordination, and evacuation support for terminal personnel when required.
Supply operations planning
- Support the Team Leader in preparing the LPG lifting schedule based on fleet availability, storage tank ullage, and bulk LPG stock needs for bottling.
- Make sure the resources needed to maintain the strategic bulk LPG stock are available.
Supply operations management
- Oversee safety and terminal operations from the control room using TGS, FACP, F&G, PLC/SCADA, and CCTV, and respond promptly to any alarms.
- Document operational abnormalities in the relevant systems and escalate them to the Team Leader.
- Review terminal operating data, keep the required logs current, and ensure shift stock movement details are recorded in the logbook.
- Contribute to the review, updating, and improvement of operating procedures for induction, training, and management of change activities involving facility, C&E, or system logic changes.
- Maintain LPG tank stock through bulk receipts from the Mussafah LPG plant.
- Supervise LPG unloading activities with Supply Assistants and operators in line with SOPs and work instructions.
- Check ullage, pipeline condition, tank gauges, meters, and valves to confirm safe receipt of product.
- Track live stock positions, coordinate with the Mussafah control room, and update the Team Leader for planning and follow-up actions.
- Ensure full compliance with HSEMS, SOPs, work instructions, and ADNOC policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with Supply Assistants and Operators to confirm the correct tank and valve lineup for receipts and issues.
- Complete required ERP entries each day, including work notifications, material requests, PTNs, and related transactions.
- Take part in JSA, FRA, financial audit, and safety audit reviews.
- Work with HSE staff to respond to fire, gas, and other emergency situations as needed.
- Raise work notifications, follow up with contractors and concerned staff during breakdowns, maintenance, or preventive maintenance work, and issue the necessary PTW.
- Report unsafe conditions, environmental incidents, unsafe acts, near misses, or injuries immediately in line with HSEMS requirements.
- Process reports accurately and on time, including daily reconciliation reviews, receipt paperwork, and record maintenance.
- Investigate inventory variances that do not meet company standards and report findings to the Team Leader.
- Support the Team Leader in closing all discrepancies within the required timeframe.
- Guide Supply Assistants and Operators during LPG plant operations and troubleshooting when needed.
- Support Plant Supervisors and Operators to ensure smooth start-up and normal running of the Cylinder Filling Plant during the shift.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure a smooth handover between shifts with the Supply Assistant.
- Update all shift-related information in the eLog shift handover system.
Facility maintenance
- Help keep storage tanks, pump houses, vehicle unloading bays, the control room, substation, and related utilities operating smoothly by maintaining a log of faults and repair needs.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to execute preventive maintenance plans effectively.
Inventory management and reconciliation
- Prepare daily and monthly LPG bulk issue reports and enter the data into ERP for reconciliation with the relevant teams.
- Support reconciliation of bulk LPG received from Mussafah and consumed at the plant with the plant supervisor and Team Leader.
Performance monitoring and improvement
- Ensure critical equipment and instrumentation remain available in the control room and field for effective asset utilization.
- Identify constraints in supply operations and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve availability and efficiency.
Qualifications and experience
A Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or another related discipline is required. The role calls for 5 to 6 years of experience in supervising LPG supply operations or related oil and gas operations. Strong command of Arabic and English, along with computer literacy, is expected.
