About the company

Traferox Technologies develops, manufactures, and commercializes medical products used in solid organ transplantation, including lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, and pancreas. Its technologies were originally invented by transplant surgeons at the University Health Network (UHN). The company currently markets the TorEx Lung Perfusion System and the X OPort Lung Transport Device, and is focused on improving transplant outcomes and saving patient lives.

Role overview

This full-time, permanent position is based at 2400 Skymark Avenue in Mississauga, Ontario, and reports to the Manager in the Manufacturing department. The role supports procurement, supplier coordination, logistics, shipping, inventory control, ERP reporting, and production material planning. The working schedule is 37.5 hours per week. The posting is for a new position and is non-union.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is CAD 60,000 to CAD 70,000.

Supply chain and purchasing duties

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for purchased goods and services, while assisting QA with supplier qualification.
  • Keep the approved supplier list current, maintain backup sources, and carry out supply risk reviews.
  • Work with brokers and freight forwarders to secure pricing and service terms.
  • Prepare purchase orders, route them for approval, send them to suppliers, and track acceptance, acknowledgements, and expected delivery dates.
  • Support manufacturing engineering with production planning and material readiness so the production schedule can be met.
  • Check BOMs and part drawings to confirm the correct components are being ordered.

Logistics and shipping duties

  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments, including supplier and customer pickups, courier services such as UPS, LTL/FTL shipments, and international import-export movements.
  • Prepare shipping paperwork such as packing lists, commercial invoices, and customs documents, and coordinate closely with freight forwarders and brokers.
  • Monitor shipments from start to finish and handle delays, damage, customs issues, and related claims.
  • Serve as a certified dangerous goods shipper by classifying, packing, marking, labeling, and documenting shipments in line with applicable regulations and carrier requirements.

Inventory, ERP, and reporting duties

  • Compare the BOM in Empower with the purchasing BOM in Sage.
  • Review inventory transactions in Sage to understand the type and effect of each movement.
  • Investigate stock differences by matching Excel count sheets against Sage records.
  • Create inventory count sheets and coordinate cycle counts.
  • Set counting groups and schedules, such as monthly counts for Albumin and empty bottles and quarterly counts for McMaster items.
  • Prepare SEI reports, including reports that track customer usage by product.
  • Implement CR changes and evaluate their impact on inventory, open purchase orders, scrap, and supplier communication.
  • Track supplier confirmation dates in Sage and assess how they affect planned work orders.

Qualifications

The employer is looking for a post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution, along with 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience. Strong procurement knowledge, sourcing expertise, and hands-on experience with domestic and international shipping, customs, and shipment documentation are expected. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, as is experience working with ERP systems. Experience in medical technology is considered an asset. The successful candidate should also have strong written and verbal communication skills, be certified to handle dangerous goods, and be comfortable using ERP and reporting outputs such as Sage and SEI to support planning and inventory accuracy.
