This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can think strategically about the supply chain while still managing day-to-day execution in a fast-moving manufacturing setting. The role partners closely with Engineering, Production, Planning, Finance, and other teams to make sure materials are available for production plans and customer commitments.

- Create and carry out sourcing plans for both direct and indirect spending categories.
- Find, assess, qualify, and manage suppliers that can support company growth and operating needs.
- Run RFQ and RFP activities and lead supplier evaluation and selection.
- Handle negotiations around pricing, contracts, payment terms, lead times, service expectations, and vendor performance standards.
- Review total cost of ownership and compare supplier options to support better decisions.
- Build dual-sourcing and risk-reduction plans for critical parts and materials.
- Work with Engineering on value engineering and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Push annual savings and cost-avoidance initiatives across the supply base.
Vendor management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Set up supplier scorecards and ongoing performance management processes.
- Hold quarterly business reviews with key suppliers.
- Track supplier results across cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and lead time.
- Address supplier issues and drive corrective actions when performance falls short.
- Identify strategic supplier partnerships that strengthen competitiveness and operational performance.
- Oversee supplier contracts and confirm compliance with negotiated terms.
Inventory management
- Create inventory strategies that balance customer service needs with working-capital goals.
- Monitor stock levels, turnover, safety stock, and replenishment settings.
- Study demand trends and material requirements to improve inventory investment.
- Work with Production Planning so materials are available for manufacturing schedules.
- Cut down on excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
- Build reporting tools and KPI dashboards for inventory visibility.
- Lead annual physical counts and cycle count programs.
Warehouse operations
- Oversee receiving, storage, material handling, and shipping support in the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and clean transaction control in the ERP system.
- Set up and sustain organized warehouse layouts and material-flow processes.
- Apply best practices that improve warehouse safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Develop procedures for inventory control and material movement.
- Improve warehouse space usage and storage methods.
- Partner with Production to strengthen material staging and line-side replenishment.
Cross-functional leadership
- Work with Production, Planning, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to align supply chain work with business goals.
- Take part in Sales & Operations Planning and production planning activities.
- Proactively communicate supply risks, inventory issues, and supplier performance concerns.
- Support new product launches and engineering changes.
Continuous improvement
- Lead initiatives that improve supply chain processes.
- Create metrics and reports that improve visibility and support better decisions.
- Look for ways to raise service levels, lower costs, and improve efficiency.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and broader continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
