Role overview

The Supply Chain Planner will manage the balance between customer demand, production plans, and material supply to keep operations efficient and cost-effective. The role works closely with demand planning, manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to support strong inventory control and service performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Review forecast data and historical demand patterns to support planning decisions.
  • Work with sales and demand planning teams to confirm forecast accuracy and assumptions.
  • Spot potential issues such as stock shortages, surplus inventory, and seasonal demand shifts.
  • Create and update production schedules that match business demand.
  • Align manufacturing capacity with required output levels.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to manage limitations, priorities, and execution timing.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for raw materials and components.
  • Monitor supplier timelines, lead times, and schedule adherence.
  • Track inventory positions and adjust safety stock levels when necessary.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and finance partners to keep supply plans aligned.
  • Support S&OP and SIOP planning processes.
  • Communicate supply risks and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Measure performance using KPIs such as service level, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy.
  • Look for opportunities to lower costs and improve overall efficiency.
  • Provide general support to the department as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • At least 2-5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, or manufacturing roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Google Docs, and data analysis.
  • Experience using NetSuite is preferred.
  • APICS/ASCM certification such as CSCP or CPIM is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Compensation and benefits

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $75,000, depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, market data, location, and internal equity. This position also offers an annual bonus, health, dental, vision, and mental health insurance, a 401(k) with company match, flexible PTO, a monthly $100 wellness stipend, and other perks.
