About the Role
Morgan McKinley is recruiting for a skilled Supply Planner to become a key member of a growing supply chain department in Dublin. This position is focused on guaranteeing that products are supplied efficiently and on schedule to satisfy market needs. The role involves maintaining ideal inventory levels, preventing stockouts, and avoiding excess stock. You will work closely with production, procurement, logistics, and commercial departments to forecast demand, manage vendors, and enhance the overall supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Create and sustain supply plans derived from demand forecasts, ensuring product availability to meet customer requirements while keeping excess inventory to a minimum.
- Coordinate with demand planners to achieve alignment on forecasts and make necessary adjustments to supply plans.
- Oversee inventory levels to maintain adequate stock without overstocking or understocking, thereby reducing stockouts and optimizing working capital.
- Examine inventory data to pinpoint slow-moving or obsolete stock and devise strategies to manage these items.
- Track vendor performance and collaborate with procurement to negotiate terms and manage delivery timelines.
- Engage closely with sales, marketing, and demand planning teams to comprehend upcoming promotions, new product introductions, and market shifts, adapting supply plans as needed.
- Produce reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) concerning inventory status, stockout incidents, forecast accuracy, and vendor performance.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in supply planning or a comparable function, ideally within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
- Demonstrated expertise with supply chain planning software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for detailed data analysis and report generation.
- A solid understanding of FMCG supply chain intricacies, including inventory management principles, lead times, and demand forecasting methodologies.
Additional Information
This position is based in Dublin, requiring three days per week in the office.
