Surveyor

Role overview

Silverstrand is looking for a Surveyor to join its team on a permanent basis, supporting Brisbane, South East Queensland, and regional project work. This role sits within an experienced group and contributes directly to the growth and delivery of the business.

Key duties

• Carry out basic set-out and as-built surveying for civil works as construction progresses.
• Support a wide range of civil project activities, including earthworks, roads, pipework, structures, piling, and metal works.
• Perform volume surveying for items such as trenches and bulk earthworks.
• Use CAD tools to prepare drawings and volume information for possible variation work.
• Complete control surveys accurately.
• Prepare and compile monthly production reporting.
• Upload designs to GPS machine systems.
• Work closely with project teams to maintain accuracy across site activities.

Skills and experience needed

• A minimum Diploma in Surveying or another relevant tertiary qualification.
• Prior experience working as an Engineering Surveyor or Project Surveyor.
• Registration with the Queensland Surveyors Board as an Associate Surveyor, Graduate Surveyor, or above is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Trimble Total Station and GPS equipment, or Leica Total Stations, or comparable instruments.
• Ability to work with 12D software or a similar platform.
• Current Australian manual driver’s licence.
• Confidence in raising and managing technical queries.
• Understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.
• A strong safety record on previous projects.
