Job description
Role Overview
Génération Montante des Maintenanciers Industriels du Burkina Faso (G2MI-BF) is hiring a full-time remote professional to support safer, healthier, and more sustainable industrial environments. The position centers on evaluating environmental and workplace health risks, reviewing how operations are currently handled, and suggesting practical improvements to reduce hazards.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will carry out risk checks, help create and refresh environmental health and safety policies, and assist in putting EHS systems and procedures into practice. You will also keep track of compliance with relevant environmental and occupational health rules, prepare documentation and reports, and offer advice and training to both internal teams and outside stakeholders.
You will work with cross-functional teams, join virtual meetings, and use digital tools to monitor action items, analyze information, and share findings and recommendations clearly.
Qualifications and Experience
The role calls for a solid background in Environmental Health and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), with the ability to design, roll out, and monitor EHS programs. You should understand environmental compliance, including regulatory requirements, standards, and accepted industry practices.
Knowledge of occupational health is important, especially around identifying hazards, assessing risks, and applying controls to protect worker health and safety. Strong communication skills are needed so you can explain technical ideas to different audiences and produce clear reports and presentations.
A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience, in Environmental Health, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a similar field is required.
Success in this role also depends on the ability to work independently in a remote setup, handle several priorities at once, and meet deadlines with little supervision. Comfort using common office and collaboration tools, such as document editors, spreadsheets, and virtual meeting software, along with basic data analysis skills, is expected.
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance environments is a plus, and familiarity with West African or comparable regulatory environments will be considered an advantage.
