Role overview

The Talent Acquisition Advisor supports AmeriCorps member hiring by building regional talent pipelines, carrying out sourcing and screening plans, and shaping a strong applicant experience. Acting as a strategic partner to program teams, this position relies on data and recruitment insights to solve hiring challenges, fill open positions with candidates aligned to the mission, and advance Ampact’s service objectives.

Key responsibilities

Pipeline building and outreach

  • Create and grow candidate pipelines through recruitment marketing, advertising, passive sourcing, and direct outreach.
  • Review application volume each day and close gaps so regional hiring goals stay on track.
  • Handle requisitions and candidate information in iCIMS, while using channels such as Handshake, LinkedIn, and local community networks.
  • Build long-term relationships with schools, workforce organizations, and nonprofits to improve referral sources.
  • Represent Ampact in online spaces, at events, and during community presentations to increase awareness of AmeriCorps opportunities.

Candidate experience and selection

  • Oversee the entire applicant journey from submission through offer, with clear, timely, and professional communication.
  • Review applicants for AmeriCorps eligibility and role fit, coordinate interviews, and ensure hiring steps follow required procedures.
  • Keep complete and accurate records of interviews, scores, and final decisions.
  • Issue offers, coordinate placements with program staff, and support a smooth handoff to Talent Operations for onboarding.

Partnership and strategy

  • Serve as a dependable advisor to regional teams by aligning recruiting plans with hiring needs and award timelines.
  • Work with program staff, marketing, and other talent acquisition colleagues to improve messaging and campaign performance.
  • Share clear reports on pipelines, forecasts, and progress to support MSY and budget planning.
  • Help strengthen national recruitment practices and systems through continuous improvement efforts.

Additional duties

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in full-cycle, high-volume recruiting or a closely related area.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, along with careful attention to detail.
  • Comfort using recruiting platforms and related tools.
  • Ability to assess pipeline health and change sourcing tactics when needed.
  • Experience developing relationships with schools and community-based organizations.
  • Solid screening and interviewing skills for entry-level positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several priorities independently and produce results.
  • Strong collaboration skills across teams that may be cross-functional and geographically dispersed.
  • Commitment to fair, non-discriminatory hiring practices.
  • Experience partnering with communities of color and Indigenous communities.
  • Ability to carry out the recruitment cycle in a fully virtual setting if required.
