Job description

Company Overview

This role is with a fast-scaling eCommerce business focused on home goods. The organization is looking for a highly operational and strategically minded Talent Acquisition Manager to strengthen and modernize its recruiting function as the customer service organization continues to grow.

Role Summary

You will take ownership of the talent acquisition process, supporting the hiring of more than 150 retail employees each year along with a smaller number of corporate positions. The role includes leading a full-time TA Coordinator, partnering with external recruiting agencies, and staying actively involved in hiring for priority roles. A major part of the job is improving recruiting speed, lowering cost-per-hire, and protecting candidate experience and quality of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Review current recruiting workflows, identify delays, and redesign processes to improve hiring speed and remove friction.
  • Build and execute high-volume hiring plans for 150+ entry-level retail and customer service roles annually, ensuring pipelines stay healthy, varied, and aligned with store opening timelines.
  • Own and improve the ATS and HRIS ecosystem so automation runs smoothly and recruiting data stays accurate and connected.
  • Expand the interview training program for retail operations leaders so managers can assess candidates effectively, compliantly, and in line with the company’s brand tone.
  • Guide, coach, and develop a TA Coordinator while also evaluating staffing agencies against clear standards for cost, quality, and performance.
  • Track and communicate talent acquisition metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire, and use the data to show value to leadership.
  • Remain hands-on in recruiting for key openings when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, especially in high-volume environments such as retail, hospitality, or customer service.
  • Minimum 1 year of people management, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
  • Proven background in evaluating workflows and improving operational processes.
  • Advanced experience with Greenhouse ATS and familiarity with payroll/HRIS integration, preferably ADP.
  • Demonstrated success in improving recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill and cost-per-hire.
  • Experience creating and delivering training for hiring managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong operational judgment with the ability to balance speed, cost, and candidate experience without reducing hiring quality.
  • U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
  • Must be able to work on-site in New York City about three days per week.

Perks and Compensation

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
  • Paid vacation time.
  • Eligibility for company performance-based bonuses.
  • Base salary range of $100,000 to $120,000, depending on experience.

Equal Opportunity

The employer is committed to building an inclusive workplace and considers all qualified candidates fairly regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
