Role overview
Fraser Coast Regional Council is hiring a permanent full-time Team Member for its Infrastructure Services team within Infrastructure Operations in Hervey Bay, Queensland. This role sits at Operations Level 3 and offers an annual salary of $71,780 plus superannuation, along with an annualised allowance of $2,701 and a 9-day fortnight.
The council is focused on building stronger communities and is looking for someone dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a team environment to help deliver road and drainage maintenance work across the Fraser Coast.
Key duties
- Carry out road construction and maintenance activities to the required standard.
- Use plant, tools, and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Support traffic management and site safety controls.
- Perform pre-start inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain accurate records such as work logs, timesheets, and service requests.
- Work well with others and contribute to ongoing improvement within the team.
Required experience and qualifications
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Current MR driver licence recognised in Queensland.
- Hands-on experience in road and drainage maintenance work.
- Ability to operate plant, tools, and equipment safely.
- Good knowledge of WHS obligations and safe work methods.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Confidence using mobile devices and digital systems for recording work.
Preferred skills and tickets
- Traffic Management Implementation Level 2.
- Chainsaw Level 1.
- Safe Working Near Exposed Live Parts (SWNELP).
