Role overview
This position sits within the Commercial & Investment Bank and focuses on keeping production technology services stable, available, and performing well. The role is centered on resolving service interruptions, supporting both internally built and externally sourced systems, and helping deliver a smooth experience for users.
What you will do
- Investigate production application flow issues so that end-to-end application and infrastructure services continue to support business operations.
- Contribute to stronger stability and availability by taking part in problem management activities.
- Watch production environments for unusual behavior and address issues with standard observability tools.
- Record basic issues and possible fixes for both business and technology stakeholders.
- Help manage incidents, problems, and changes across technology applications and infrastructure, escalating according to firm policy and process.
- Use firm-approved AI capabilities in the work environment to accelerate incident triage and early problem analysis, such as turning logs and symptoms into initial hypotheses, while validating results and protecting sensitive data.
- Apply reuse-first, AI-assisted methods in operational stability work to spot recurring interruption patterns and support verified remediation actions that meet resiliency and security expectations.
Required background
- At least 1 year of experience, or equivalent hands-on expertise, in troubleshooting, fixing, and maintaining information technology services.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a similar field.
- Comfort working with applications or infrastructure in a large-scale environment, whether on-premises or in public cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of using approved AI tools within production support workflows, along with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to check AI-assisted incident recommendations before taking action, escalating when unsure, and following operational and security requirements.
Preferred experience
- Exposure to one or more general-purpose programming languages or scripting for automation.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
- Experience with tools such as Geneos, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana is a plus.
