Telecommunications Draftsman

Role overview

Candidzone is looking for an experienced Telecommunications Draftsman who can create precise technical drawings, support network planning, and keep infrastructure documentation accurate for major projects. The position is offered in a flexible onsite/remote setup.

What you will do

• Develop detailed ELV/ICT design, coordination, shop, and as-built drawings with AutoCAD, Revit, and related drafting tools.
• Produce 3D models for clash checks, schedule validation, and quantity take-off activities.
• Prepare engineering drawings from models, including plans, layouts, sections, profiles, and arrangement details.
• Follow company drafting standards and engineering methods throughout the project lifecycle.
• Annotate, mark up, and color-code drawings, maps, and sketches to show boundaries and project-specific notes.
• Create cover sheets and other project documentation as needed.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to understand scope and delivery needs.
• Maintain accurate design records using CAD-based drafting systems.
• Use specialized software to collect, organize, and present engineering information.

What we are looking for

• A bachelor's degree or diploma in any engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in building, residential, industrial, infrastructure, or similar projects in the GCC/UAE.
• Hands-on expertise with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
• Strong capability in preparing working drawings and creating new Revit project files.
• Solid understanding of ELV/ICT systems, including fire and life safety, telecommunications, security, audio-visual, structured cabling, and other ELV systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunications rooms, equipment rooms, backbone cabling, horizontal cabling, and structured cabling systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, multitasking ability, communication skills, and teamwork.

Additional information

This role covers technical drafting work for telecommunications and ELV/ICT projects. The work model is described as both onsite and remote.
