Job description

Job purpose

The role focuses on expanding insurance business through an assigned relationship or channel partner within a defined area or zone. The incumbent will influence the partner to recommend Birla Sun Life Insurance products to its customers, while also ensuring complete pre-sales and post-sales support for both the partner and customers. A key expectation is to not only meet targets but also deliver steady quarter-on-quarter business growth.

Job context and major challenges

This position operates in a highly competitive insurance environment where the company mainly sells unit-linked policies. Success depends heavily on third-party relationships, which may have competing priorities, so strong alignment and partner management are essential. The role also requires balancing internal process expectations with the needs and expectations of channel partners.

Key result areas

  • Deliver premium and revenue targets to support overall company growth by maintaining regular engagement with the channel partner.
  • Identify and map key decision-makers, and keep leadership informed with timely updates.
  • Actively promote and adopt all recognition and reward initiatives run by the organization.
  • Keep sales and servicing processes running smoothly by communicating any process, policy, or regulatory changes through the appropriate training modules.
  • Ensure that sales activities, service interactions, policy issuance, and complaint resolution happen without operational bottlenecks.
  • Review business quality regularly and share relevant insights with senior stakeholders to support a profitable business mix.
  • Connect with customers through welcome calls and related engagement activities.
  • Address customer queries promptly so renewals happen on time and persistency norms are met.

Additional information

The role requires ongoing coordination with relationship partners, customers, and internal teams to maintain business continuity, service quality, and renewal discipline.
