Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and quality-focused Test Analyst to join the technology team in a full-time position. This is an entry-level to mid-level role centered on planning, carrying out, and recording software testing work so that applications satisfy business needs, functional expectations, and quality benchmarks before they are released.
Key Responsibilities
- Review business, functional, and technical specifications and turn them into detailed testing approaches and scenarios.
- Build, update, and run test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Carry out functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and user acceptance testing.
- Find software defects, document them clearly, rank them by priority, and follow them until they are resolved.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to help maintain product quality.
- Check that the application meets requirements for functionality, ease of use, performance, and reliability.
- Join requirement reviews and provide quality-focused input throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Prepare test reports, defect summaries, and progress updates for test execution.
- Assist with automation testing efforts and help improve testing processes and methods over time.
- Follow quality standards, testing best practices, and internal procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience in software testing, quality assurance, test analysis, or a similar area is preferred.
- Good understanding of testing methods, defect lifecycle handling, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Ability to create test cases, test plans, test scripts, and defect documentation.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, HP ALM, or comparable tools.
- Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing practices.
- Exposure to SQL, databases, APIs, and system integrations is beneficial.
- Experience or familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or similar technologies is an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and written documentation ability.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
