Role Overview

This position is for a Test Operator based onsite in Carrigaline, County Cork, Ireland. The role reports to the PCB Production Supervisor and supports day-to-day production activity as needed.

Key Duties

  • Run assembly machinery and equipment needed to complete assigned tasks.
  • Prepare parts and components for hand assembly.
  • Operate PCB cleaning and baking equipment.
  • Use torque tools when assembling designated fasteners.
  • Carry out manual assembly of printed circuit boards and selected mechanical hardware according to formal assembly instructions, process documents, drawings, and SOPs.
  • Work with printed circuit cards and related electronic components.
  • Apply adhesives and conformal coatings where required.
  • Support prototype builds under engineering oversight.
  • Set up equipment and perform process measurements when needed.
  • Complete operator-level machine maintenance as directed.
  • Inspect and rework PCB assemblies and components against approved acceptance criteria.
  • Use the appropriate safety equipment during maintenance tasks.
  • Complete all required production records and documentation.
  • Process work orders in the ERP system.
  • Follow personal tool care rules, anti-static controls, safety practices, and housekeeping standards.

Training on specific equipment will be provided. The employer is an equal opportunities employer.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge of IPC 7711/IPC 7721 and IPC J-Standard, along with how these standards are applied, is preferred.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate should have a consistent record of meeting quality and production targets, take a positive and adaptable approach, and communicate well with others. A strong eye for detail, good problem-solving ability, solid time management, and a friendly, professional manner when dealing with different people are also important. Around 2 to 3 years of relevant assembly experience or knowledge would be an advantage.
