Role overview
Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is hiring a Traffic Control Person/Flagger for on-site work in Langley, British Columbia. In this role, you will report to the Crew Foreman and help keep traffic moving safely and smoothly around active job sites.
What you will do
- Manage traffic around active work areas using tools such as traffic signs and two-way radios.
- Carry out the traffic control plan exactly as directed by the Site Supervisor or Crew Foreperson.
- Stay in contact with Site Supervisors and other flaggers to support efficient traffic movement with as little disruption as possible.
- Interact with pedestrians and drivers when needed.
- Work across different locations and in changing weather conditions.
- Handle other related tasks as assigned.
What we are looking for
- A valid driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle.
- A current TCP ticket.
- Prior experience working as a Flagger or Traffic Control Person.
- Strong communication abilities.
- A team-focused, positive approach.
- Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- A strong commitment to safety and to following company policies, procedures, and practices.
Additional information
- Pay range: $22 to $25 per hour.
- This is a full-time, year-round position.
- Overtime may be required from time to time.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
