Role overview
Primark is looking for a Trainee Buyer to help drive sales and profit by supporting the buying function and helping ensure the right products reach customers. This entry-level opportunity is designed for someone building a career toward a future Buyer position.
What you will do
In this role, you will work closely with buyers and merchandisers to help develop product ranges aligned to current trends. You will also help manage the department’s critical path so products are delivered to stores on time and meet quality expectations.
- Enter order details accurately and update internal systems whenever changes are needed.
- Compare the product offer against key competitors in terms of price, quality, and value.
- Stay in regular contact with suppliers and join relevant meetings when required.
- Track and maintain the critical path for the department.
- Follow up with suppliers on raised orders and related queries.
- Prepare size specifications.
- Handle initial sealing, production samples, fitting checks, and quality review.
- Coordinate the sending and receiving of packages to and from suppliers.
- Keep aware of weekly stock and sales information for the section in line with company policy.
