Overview
Trination Transport Inc. is hiring a truck driver for its Dartmouth, Nova Scotia location. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on transporting goods safely and efficiently.
Language Requirements
English is required.
Education
A secondary school graduation certificate is required.
Experience
No prior experience is necessary, as the employer is prepared to train the right candidate.
What You’ll Do
- Adjust and plan driving routes using GPS, onboard computer systems, or other navigation tools to reduce fuel use and emissions.
- Handle mountain driving assignments when needed.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service.
- Organize travel plans, related itineraries, and reservations.
- Operate as part of a two-driver team or convoy.
- Load and unload cargo.
- Drive straight or articulated trucks to move goods and materials.
- Check the truck and its components, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Carry out brake adjustments.
- Complete emergency roadside repairs when required.
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, while monitoring all major vehicle conditions.
- Communicate updates and instructions to central dispatch.
- Track cargo details, hours of service, distance driven, and fuel usage.
- Transport and manage dangerous goods.
Credentials
- AZ class driver’s licence.
- Air brakes endorsement.
Documentation and Specialization
- Knowledge of bills of lading.
- Familiarity with driver logbooks.
- Ability to complete inspection reports for pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip checks.
- Experience with tractor-trailer equipment.
- Travel experience across international, local, long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, regional, and short-haul routes.
