Truck Driver

Overview

CH Logistics is hiring a truck driver for work at its Burlington, Ontario location. This is a full-time, on-site position, which means the work must be performed in person at the physical workplace and cannot be done remotely.

Role details

The position is open to candidates who can communicate in English. The employer is looking for someone with a secondary school graduation certificate. Prior experience is not required, as training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Use GPS, computer systems, and other navigation tools to plan or change routes based on traffic and other conditions, with the aim of lowering fuel use and emissions.
• Deliver professional customer service while handling assignments.
• Work as part of a two-person crew or convoy when needed.
• Load and unload cargo safely.
• Secure special permits and any other documents needed for international cargo movement.
• Operate straight or articulated trucks to move goods and materials.
• Check vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and related equipment.
• Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and monitor all aspects of the vehicle throughout the trip.
• Communicate updates and instructions to central dispatch.
• Keep accurate records of cargo, driving hours, distance covered, and fuel usage.
• Tarp cargo and maintain its safety and security during transport.
• Maintain logs and other required work records.

Credentials

An AZ class licence is required for this role.
