Job description

Company Overview

The National University of Singapore is an internationally recognized university and a leading voice in Asia, focused on expanding knowledge and influencing the future through education, research, and public service. Based in Singapore, the university works from a strategic regional position to help solve important challenges affecting Singapore, the wider region, and the world. It encourages innovation, collaboration, and meaningful contribution within a diverse, multicultural environment.

The institution also places importance on respectful interaction and responsible conduct across its community, including its digital spaces.

Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position for a User Interface Designer in Singapore. The selected candidate will partner with different teams to turn user and stakeholder needs into clear, engaging, and visually strong interfaces for web and mobile products.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will produce wireframes, mockups, and polished UI designs, maintain design systems, and ensure every interface aligns with the university’s brand direction. You will work closely with UX specialists and front-end developers to improve flows, support usability evaluations, and refine designs using feedback and data.

You will also contribute to design documentation, help apply accessibility and responsive design principles, and promote user-focused design practices across projects.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have strong UI and UX capabilities with a user-centered approach to solving usability and interaction challenges. Experience creating visual concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD is important.

A practical understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and responsive design, is needed to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. A bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience is also acceptable.

A strong portfolio showing complete product design work, including complex interfaces and the reasoning behind design decisions, is required. Familiarity with accessibility standards, design systems, and mobile-first responsive design is an advantage. Good communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills are also essential.

Experience in higher education, the public sector, or large-scale digital platforms will be considered a plus.

Additional Information

Applicants are expected to uphold respectful engagement and responsible conduct while working across the university’s diverse and digital environment.
