Job description

Brief Overview

This role is for a UX Researcher who wants more influence in the room, not just a set of research outputs. You will work on agentic AI products that help insurance brokers win clients, advise them, and expand their business. The research function is treated as a strategic lever: it is expected to move the organization from merely fast execution to genuinely strong product decisions.

Team and Role Context

You will join a lean product design team operating at a fast pace. The VP of Product Design works in short cycles, and the Chief Product Officer has direct interest in the research work. You are expected to contribute ideas and recommendations, not simply support others. Trust and credibility will be earned over time, and your manager will actively help you build them.

How the Role Evolves

The initial scope is intentionally focused: one product area, a defined set of relationships, and core research skills applied in a real business context. As you prove your judgment and build confidence with stakeholders, your influence should expand from executing studies to shaping research practice, framing discussions, and becoming a direct point of contact for the people around you.

The goal is for your presence to matter enough that people notice when you are not in the room. In the first year, your manager will be closely involved, offering challenge, support, and hands-on guidance.

What Success Looks Like

You are expected to bring initiative, speak up when something is not working, and pursue promising questions even if nobody explicitly assigned them. The team values someone who arrives ready to contribute, not just report findings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and run qualitative and quantitative research using the right mix of methods for the question at hand.
  • Conduct moderated and unmoderated user testing, interviews, and related discovery work.
  • Turn research data into clear synthesis, insights, and recommendations that can influence product direction.
  • Bring a strong point of view to discussions rather than merely restating findings.
  • Understand product goals, metrics, roadmap priorities, and blockers so research questions are grounded in business context.
  • Collaborate closely with product and design leadership and contribute to important decision-making conversations.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully as a research collaborator while recognizing where human judgment is still essential.
  • Adapt quickly as methods, tools, and business questions continue to evolve.

Requirements

  • Solid foundational UX research skills, including study design, participant recruiting, moderated testing, unmoderated testing, and synthesis.
  • Ability to interpret findings and make a reasoned recommendation, even when the answer is not fully certain.
  • Comfort working from business context and anticipating research needs before being asked.
  • Practical experience or curiosity around using AI in research workflows.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for a changing environment where tools and methods are still being refined.
  • A desire to grow into a more influential, decision-shaping role.
  • You do not need a five-year resume, mastery of every research method, or prior insurance industry experience.

Working Environment

This is a fully remote position based in the United States. The company is a B2B SaaS organization of about 1,000 employees with teams across the US, UK, India, and the Philippines. The research team is small and has direct visibility with product leadership.
