Role overview

We are seeking an energetic and driven Valeter to join the Edinburgh MG/OMODA/JAECOO branch in Seafield. The role focuses on preparing vehicles so they are consistently displayed in excellent condition.

Working hours

This is a full-time position with the following schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; and alternate Saturdays, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Key duties

You will be responsible for making sure sold and stock vehicles are cleaned and presented to a very high standard. The work is hands-on and active, so it suits someone who enjoys practical tasks, is detail-focused, and works well with others.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean sold and stock vehicles to a high finish
  • Wash vehicle exteriors using a high-pressure washer
  • Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors using powerful cleaning equipment
  • Use polishing and buffing equipment to improve the appearance of bodywork
  • Follow health and safety rules when handling cleaning chemicals
  • Keep all tools, equipment, and machinery in safe working order and secure, reporting faults and following manufacturer guidance and PPE advice
  • Work within agreed deadlines and performance targets
  • Use an online diary system to coordinate vehicle scheduling
  • Maintain a daily log of completed work
  • Carry out other branch support tasks as needed

Essential skills and experience

  • Valid full UK driving licence
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Self-driven approach with the ability to collaborate in a team
  • Good multitasking ability
  • Willingness to take part in training

Training and experience

Previous valet experience is desirable but not required. Full training can be provided for someone who shows strong enthusiasm and meets the other key requirements. All new valet employees will also attend the company’s Valet Academy.
