Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and imaginative Video Editor to join our vibrant team on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal in the post-production process, where you will craft engaging and effective video assets designed to connect with target audiences and boost sales for ecommerce brands. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of creative flair, technical proficiency, and a solid grasp of ecommerce marketing principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit raw footage into polished content for Meta and TikTok platforms, focusing on effective hooks, cohesive storytelling, and creating engaging videos to maximize thumb-stopping power, viewer retention, and click-through rates.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team, including directors and content creators, via digital platforms like Slack and weekly video calls, to align on creative visions and ensure final products meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Contribute creative ideas and suggestions during brainstorming and creative meetings to enhance content quality, offering input on creative direction, storytelling, and visual style.
  • Manage video editing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client brand guidelines, including task prioritization and stakeholder updates.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure all videos meet ACTIV's standards and are optimized for Meta and TikTok.
  • Stay current with video editing software and technologies, recommending new tools or upgrades to maintain cutting-edge content.
  • Adapt to project needs and team requirements across different time zones, adjusting working hours as necessary to meet critical deadlines or facilitate collaboration.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of video editing experience specifically within the ecommerce marketing sector, supported by a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • A firm understanding of key performance metrics including hook rate, hold rate, and click-through rate, with expertise in producing short-form direct response videos.
  • A background in creative strategy is highly beneficial.
  • Previous agency experience is considered an advantage.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools like Higgsfield, Claude, ChatGPT, and similar platforms.
  • Ability to create original video content based on brand data, identifying successful angles and content, with potential for bonuses for such work.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new AI tools and emerging trends in video content creation.

Additional Information

This role offers flexible working hours to accommodate time zone differences, with an expectation of reasonable overlap for meetings and collaboration. Compensation is competitive and location-dependent, with a bonus structure in place to reward high-quality, scalable content. Candidates will be required to complete a short project as part of the application process.
