We are committed to thoughtful growth and fostering an environment for individuals passionate about their craft and each other.
OverviewBrooklinen is seeking a VP, Creative Director to spearhead our Art Direction, Design, Copy, Content, and Organic Social team of 14 individuals. This pivotal role involves shaping the brand's creative vision across all customer interactions, focusing on creating culturally relevant, socially native content that drives both brand loyalty and business success. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional creative judgment, a modern, social-first perspective, and a strong understanding of performance-driven storytelling. You will be instrumental in building engaging brands that resonate with consumers and lead a team to produce bold, distinctive work that keeps pace with culture.
Reporting to and collaborating closely with the CMO and other senior leaders, you will refine Brooklinen's creative strategy, enhance product narratives, and solidify Brooklinen's position as a unique and cherished brand.
What You'll Do- Collaborate with the CMO to build upon and refine Brooklinen’s creative platform and brand expression, ensuring continued cultural relevance, creative distinction, and commercial impact.
- Lead and motivate a diverse creative team encompassing Art Direction, Design, Copy, Content, and Organic Social, cultivating an environment that encourages collaboration, creative ambition, and experimentation.
- Champion a social-first creative strategy, developing concepts that seamlessly integrate across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Paid/Organic Social, Influencer marketing, CTV, Email, Retail, and live events, rather than merely adapting traditional campaigns.
- Oversee the entire creative development process, from ideation to execution, ensuring all concepts are grounded in strategy and consumer insights, culturally relevant, visually appealing, and performance-oriented.
- Advance Brooklinen’s storytelling and content strategy by leveraging AI, emerging media formats, creator collaborations, strategic partnerships, current trends, and platform-specific behaviors, with a keen awareness of contemporary consumer engagement.
- Direct the creation of impactful campaigns and social-native content that effectively link brand messaging to product offerings, thereby boosting product consideration, engagement, and brand affinity.
- Work in tandem with Brand Marketing, Growth, Retention, Merchandising, Product Design, and E-commerce teams to ensure creative output aligns with business objectives and customer insights.
- Manage the creative direction for e-commerce photography and the overall on-site creative experience.
- Partner with the Director of Brand Operations to establish project priorities, streamline workflows, and optimize team resources in a dynamic setting.
- Foster a culture of creative experimentation and continuous learning by utilizing testing methodologies, audience insights, platform analytics, and performance data to enhance creative effectiveness.
- Maintain and evolve the consistency of Brooklinen’s visual identity, voice, and tone across all customer touchpoints, while simultaneously pushing the brand into novel and unexpected creative territories.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in interiors, fashion, design, media, technology, social platforms, and broader culture to infuse fresh perspectives and inspiration into the organization.
- Actively mentor and support the professional development of creative team members, promoting growth, curiosity, collaboration, and high creative standards.
- A minimum of 14 years of experience in Creative Direction, Brand Design, Content Creation, Video Production, and Campaign Development, spanning digital, social, and physical consumer experiences.
- Substantial in-house experience within omnichannel retail and e-commerce, with a strong preference for Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) backgrounds.
- A sophisticated social-first creative sensibility and a profound understanding of how brands achieve relevance and engagement in the current media landscape.
- Demonstrated success in developing culturally resonant campaigns, creator-driven content, and innovative storytelling that yield both brand and performance benefits.
- A solid grasp of creative effectiveness, performance metrics, A/B testing, and optimization techniques, with the ability to balance brand building with tangible business outcomes.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing exceptional aesthetic judgment, original thought, and the capacity to modernize and differentiate brands.
- Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing creative teams, characterized by a collaborative, inspiring, and humble leadership approach.
- A progressive, forward-thinking mindset towards creative development, embracing experimentation, rapid execution, and a willingness to challenge established norms.
- Outstanding cross-functional collaboration skills and a problem-solving orientation, comfortable navigating ambiguity and establishing new processes as needed.
- A genuine passion for interiors, design, home goods, fashion, culture, and the dynamic interplay between lifestyle and commerce.
The base salary range for this position is $220,000 to $260,000 annually. This role also includes equity and a target bonus of 30%. Compensation decisions are based on a consistent approach to salary bands for internal equity, and offers are expected to fall within this range. The final compensation will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, and current market data.
Benefits & Perks- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (employee-only), with up to 100% employer-paid premiums.
- Support for fertility and family-building, offering up to $20,000 in lifetime benefits.
- A 401(k) retirement savings plan with a 4% company match.
- 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave.
- Generous paid time off, including 20 vacation days (increasing to 25 after five years of service) and year-round Summer Fridays.
- A hybrid work model requiring two core days in the office (Tuesdays through Thursdays).
- Company-observed remote work periods during Thanksgiving week and the final week of December.
- Eligibility for up to four additional remote work weeks annually, subject to approval.
- A substantial employee discount of 40% on products, supplemented by a seasonal product allowance.
