Role Summary

The Waterproofer will be based on site in Accra and work full time, carrying out waterproofing tasks on foundations, roofs, walls, floors, and other structural areas to stop water ingress and reduce damage. The position includes preparing surfaces, blending and applying waterproofing products such as membranes, coatings, sealants, and cement-based materials, and working from technical directions and drawings. The role also involves checking existing structures for dampness or leaks, pinpointing affected areas, and suggesting suitable waterproofing remedies. The Waterproofer will handle hand and power tools safely, look after tools and materials, keep the work area tidy, follow site safety procedures, work with supervisors and other trades, and complete assignments within agreed timeframes and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on background in waterproofing, construction, masonry, or another related building trade, preferably gained on residential or commercial projects.
• Capability to prepare surfaces and apply coatings, membranes, sealants, and other waterproofing products in line with manufacturer instructions.
• Understanding of basic site drawings, measurements, and job instructions, along with a strong eye for detail and workmanship quality.
• Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to work at height, in tight areas, and in changing weather.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, including correct use of protective gear and careful handling of tools and materials.
• Dependable and punctual, able to follow instructions and also work on own initiative with limited supervision.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to cooperate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other site staff.
• Prior waterproofing or similar trade experience is highly desirable; vocational training or a trade certificate is an added advantage.

Additional Information

This role is full time and site-based in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The job requires practical, on-the-ground work across construction projects and close coordination with the wider site team.
