Role overview
Asuria Training is looking for a Wellbeing Specialist to support participants in the Workforce Australia Services employment program. This is a permanent full-time role focused on helping people build confidence, address wellbeing challenges, and move toward sustainable work outcomes. The position spans Marrickville, Bondi Junction, and Maroubra, with remote service delivery also part of the role.

Key duties
The successful candidate will deliver tailored wellbeing support, including mental health assessments, counselling, and psychological interventions. The role also involves guiding participants through barriers to work and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain continuity of care.
Additional responsibilities
- Deliver telehealth and video counselling support for remote participants.
- Provide vocational guidance, goal-setting support, skills development, and problem-solving assistance.
- Participate in case conferences with internal teams to support ongoing participant care.
- Refer participants to suitable external services and advocate on their behalf where needed.
- Assist with arranging job capacity assessments for job seekers dealing with Centrelink.
- Offer telephone-based crisis support and post-placement assistance for clients whose employment is at risk.
Requirements
Candidates need a relevant allied health qualification such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling, along with active registration or membership with the appropriate professional body. Experience across a broad range of client needs is important, including mental health, psychosocial concerns, drug and alcohol issues, personal development, anger management, and vocational assessment. The role also requires strong communication, caseload management, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a diverse team.
Mandatory checks and compliance
- A current Police Check is required before employment begins.
- A valid Working with Children Check is required before commencement.
- Successful applicants must create a myGovID to access government data relevant to the role.
Experience and delivery style
- Experience delivering both face-to-face and telehealth services is needed.
- Applicants should be familiar with evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- Strong written documentation skills are necessary, including case notes and report writing.
- The role involves working with people across multiple programs and age groups, roughly from 15 to 65 years old.
