Job description

Role overview

Anglian Home Improvements is looking for an experienced Surveyor to support residential window and door projects across the Exeter region. The role is focused on confirming customer needs, producing precise measurements and drawings, and helping ensure installations are completed correctly the first time. This opportunity offers earnings of up to £60,000 per year on target earnings, along with a company car and a range of employee benefits.

The ideal candidate will come from a construction, architecture, engineering, fenestration, or home improvement background and will bring strong product knowledge, accuracy, and a practical approach to solving survey-related issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Arrange survey visits with customers in line with completion targets.
  • Travel across the region to complete technical surveys to the company’s required standards.
  • Produce accurate measurements and drawings so installations can proceed smoothly.
  • Check all ordered products, designs, and specifications with the customer and explain them clearly.
  • Suggest suitable alternatives or solutions where needed.
  • Work closely with internal teams and report any discrepancies or changes identified after surveying.
  • Record survey information in the survey system and arrange material orders where required.
  • Handle changes and issues promptly and professionally.

What we are looking for

You should be customer-oriented, confident working with people, and able to communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and design teams. A strong technical understanding of fenestration products, building regulations, and standards is important, along with the ability to work accurately and manage multiple tasks.

Applicants should also be comfortable using IT systems, including Microsoft Office, and must hold a full driving licence.

Additional requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Surveying, or equivalent practical experience in surveying within the window and door sector.
  • Experience installing uPVC products, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Full driving licence.

Benefits and rewards

  • Competitive salary with on-target earnings of up to £60,000 per year.
  • Company car.
  • Pension scheme, including a salary sacrifice option that may help reduce tax and National Insurance.
  • 31 days of holiday, increasing with service, plus an extra paid day for your birthday.
  • Paid volunteering time each year.
  • Health and wellbeing support, including discounted gym memberships, an employee assistance programme, and access to mental health first aiders.
  • Substantial employee discounts on company products.
  • Perks and discounts on days out, cinema, theatre, dining, mobile phones, groceries, and major high street retailers.
  • Opportunities for career growth and ongoing learning.
  • Salary sacrifice options such as pension, cycle to work, and additional annual leave purchase, with potential tax and National Insurance savings.

Eligibility and right to work

Applications are only open to people who already have the right to work in the UK, or who can secure that right independently. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
