Role overview

Finning Canada, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealership network, is hiring a permanent Yard Person for its Swift Current, Saskatchewan branch. In this role, you’ll help keep daily yard operations running smoothly while supporting shipping, receiving, housekeeping, and general maintenance activities.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.92 to $32.68 per hour. The package also includes employer-paid benefits, employee share purchase plan options, RRSP and retirement plan options, boot and tool allowances, employee rewards with access to discounts and perks, as well as CAT dealer-level training and CAT-certified training funded by Finning for further certification and skill growth.

Key duties

This job is split evenly between shipping/receiving work and routine yard upkeep. You will be expected to manage paperwork accurately, follow approved receiving and shipping steps, and assist with loading and unloading customer parts and components. You will also help maintain an orderly, clean yard and support general building and yard maintenance. Other related tasks may be assigned as needed.

Success in this role requires strong organization, the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy team setting, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. You should be comfortable working with customers and coworkers, communicate clearly in both speaking and writing, and bring a collaborative, self-driven attitude. The role also values customer focus, innovation, results orientation, and the confidence to address issues constructively.

Applicants should be familiar with heavy equipment and equipment operation, have basic computer ability including MS Office and CAT Inspect, and understand standard shipping and receiving procedures. You must also follow Finning’s safety and housekeeping expectations and work closely with the team to support branch and customer satisfaction.

Work schedule and important conditions

This is an onsite role in Swift Current, SK, working a 5x2 schedule from Monday to Friday. A valid driver’s license and a recent successful driver abstract are required. Because of safety requirements, candidates must be at least 21 years old.
