Job description
About the School
OneSchool Global is driven by the idea that every student learns differently and has the ability to achieve at a high level. The school’s approach is designed to build confidence, creativity, resilience, and long-term learning skills through its Learn to Learn model, which places students at the centre and develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and a growth-oriented mindset.
The Role
An enthusiastic and committed teacher is needed for Year 7–8 learners at the Timaru campus. The position begins in Term 4, 2026, or earlier if available, and is a permanent full-time role. It is a face-to-face teaching environment focused on supporting students as they move into secondary learning, including helping them gain confidence while working with specialist subjects through Zoom.
Key Responsibilities
You will create engaging learning experiences for Year 7–8 students, encourage them to take responsibility for their own progress, and help them develop self-discipline and teamwork. The role also involves applying the Learn to Learn framework, working closely with fellow staff to maintain consistent teaching across the campus, and promoting curiosity, creativity, and practical problem-solving. Building positive connections with parents and the wider community is also an important part of the job.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be a registered teacher in New Zealand with current certification and must be eligible to work in the country. Experience teaching Year 7–8 students, or a similar age group, within New Zealand is preferred. The school is looking for someone who values innovative teaching, active learning, and critical thinking, and who is committed to fostering a growth mindset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for working effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
Why Join Us
This role comes with pay above state levels, a supportive and collaborative team, engaged students, strong parental backing, and a connected organisation-wide community. The school also offers a technology-enabled learning environment, opportunities for professional growth, health insurance, and an annual clothing allowance.
How to Apply
Applicants should send a CV and cover letter through the school’s website portal.
