Role overview
We are looking for a creative, highly organized, and detail-focused YouTube Video Editor to join a YouTube agency team. The role involves turning raw footage into polished, audience-ready videos that reflect each client’s brand, tone, and content goals.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand the purpose, style, branding, and direction of each video project.
- Transform unedited footage into engaging, professional-quality videos ready for publishing.
- Design custom motion graphics and animation pieces when needed to match the client’s visual identity.
- Select and add suitable music and sound effects to strengthen the final edit.
- Apply YouTube SEO practices to help improve discoverability in search.
- Prepare and deliver final exports in the correct format for each platform.
- Keep video assets well organized, backed up, and easy to access.
- Stay informed about YouTube policy updates, current trends, and editing best practices.
- Continuously look for ways to speed up and improve the editing workflow while meeting client expectations.
Requirements
- Strong interest in YouTube content and video production.
- 1–2 years of professional experience in video editing, preferably with YouTube content.
- Comfort using professional editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and scene flow.
- Working knowledge of YouTube SEO and platform policies.
- Sharp eye for detail and strong visual taste.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work smoothly with teammates and clients.
- Capable of handling several projects at once and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to follow brand rules and keep a consistent editing style.
- A portfolio or showreel demonstrating editing work is required.
- English fluency is essential; additional languages are an advantage.
- Additional experience with YouTube Studio, Google Analytics, or Search Console is a plus.
- Experience in an agency or SaaS startup environment is beneficial.
- Running your own YouTube channel is a strong advantage.
