Civils Supervisor

Overview

VEA Civils, part of VEA Group Limited, is a growing civil engineering contractor working across the UK water sector. The business is expanding because of continued growth and a rising volume of projects, and it is looking for an experienced, proactive Civils Supervisor to strengthen its delivery team.

This position is suited to someone with solid experience in clean water and wastewater infrastructure who wants to progress within an ambitious organisation.

Role Summary

In this post, you will help deliver civil engineering projects by leading site activities, coordinating teams on the ground, and making sure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The work will span clean water and wastewater schemes, with a strong focus on deep excavations, temporary works, utility infrastructure, and related civil engineering tasks.

Key Duties

• Lead day-to-day site operations and supervise workforce activity.
• Organise operatives, subcontractors, plant, materials, and equipment.
• Make sure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are followed at all times.
• Run site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily task briefings.
• Track progress on site and share regular updates with Site Managers and Project Managers.
• Oversee excavation work and ensure it is completed safely and in line with approved methods.
• Support the setup, control, and review of temporary works on site.
• Complete inspections and quality checks so the work matches project requirements.
• Help build and sustain a positive safety-first culture across all activities.
• Work closely with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and internal project teams.

Experience and Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants should be able to show:

• Previous work as a Civils Supervisor, Foreperson, Ganger, or in a comparable supervisory role within civil engineering.
• Hands-on experience on clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• A strong grasp of deep excavation works and the safety controls needed around them.
• Experience supervising temporary works activities.
• Good communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• A full UK driving licence.

• NRSWA Supervisor Street Works Qualification

• CAT & Genny Training
