Role overview
This position sits at the senior end of a major digital client account in Auckland. The opportunity is to shape the digital direction for a significant financial services client that is investing heavily and looking for smarter, more innovative ways of working. The role combines brand-building and performance-driven activity, with responsibility for leading a high-impact digital agenda rather than simply supervising execution.
What you will do
- Own the digital strategy across the client portfolio and ensure it supports broader business goals.
- Guide digital activity across both brand and performance channels from planning through to delivery.
- Work as a strategic client partner who solves commercial challenges, not just media requests.
- Push innovation across channels, platforms and data capability.
- Lead the digital contribution to integrated responses and new growth opportunities.
- Manage, mentor and develop a strong team of Digital Managers.
- Set a high standard for campaign planning, activation and reporting.
- Spot opportunities to grow investment and encourage more effective digital solutions.
What we are looking for
- Senior-level experience in digital, with comfort operating directly with clients.
- Background across both brand and performance environments.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to grow accounts.
- Solid knowledge of platforms, data and measurement approaches.
- Leadership capability with a track record of building strong teams.
- A challenger mindset that improves ideas rather than simply delivering against briefs.
Why this opportunity stands out
- Large-scale client: a major financial services account with meaningful investment.
- Balanced scope: equal attention on storytelling and measurable outcomes.
- Autonomy: the role leads the digital agenda rather than inheriting a fixed approach.
- Ambition: the client is actively seeking innovation, not just optimisation.
