Role Purpose

This position is responsible for leading and supervising electrical installation work in a substation. The supervisor must organize manpower and materials effectively, track the team’s progress, and help ensure activities are completed as planned.

Key Responsibilities

• Work out the bill of quantities for the electrical and mechanical materials needed for the job.
• Use manpower efficiently, plan daily work, monitor progress, and keep activities aligned with the agreed schedule.
• Allocate labor and materials in a way that helps the project stay within the approved budget.
• Run daily toolbox talks with the team before work begins, covering procedures, tools for the day, safety measures, and responses to hazardous situations.
• Make sure the right documents and installation drawings are used on site and that any changes are updated accurately.
• Oversee the work carried out by team members and ensure the output meets quality standards.
• Support supervisors by contributing to planning discussions and review meetings.
• Prepare and submit the daily progress report.

Requirements

• A vocational or advanced vocational diploma in electrical studies from a recognized institution is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in a power distribution or transmission company is necessary.
• Out of that experience, a minimum of 1 to 2 years should be in a supervisory capacity.
• Prior exposure to supervising manpower is required.
• Hands-on experience in electrical installation work is essential.
• Working knowledge of hand tools and machines used in electrical work is expected.
• Strong listening skills are needed to understand spoken instructions and information.
• Clear verbal communication skills are required so information and ideas can be conveyed effectively.
• Safety procedures and general site safety rules must be consistently followed.
• Knowledge of the machines and tools used to achieve effective work results is important.
