Role Overview
This position sits within Engineering & Facilities at a hotel property in Vagator Beach Road, Goa. The role focuses on keeping equipment, systems, and safety-related infrastructure in reliable working condition while supporting smooth day-to-day operations and guest service.
Core Duties
- Carry out installation, upkeep, and preventive maintenance for tools, appliances, and equipment.
- Test and calibrate controls, gauges, meters, and related systems.
- Locate, identify, and operate shut-off valves as required.
- Arrange, label, and replenish parts and supplies, and maintain the inventory and purchase order records.
- Inspect tools, machinery, and equipment to confirm proper operation.
- Use computers to enter, retrieve, and manage work-related information.
- Operate a power lift when needed.
- Complete life-safety checks, including fire pump and generator run tests.
- Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
- Support the creation of disaster response procedures.
- Respond to guest maintenance and repair requests promptly.
Leadership and Team Support
- Help managers with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, and coaching of employees.
- Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive, goal-focused work environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
Standards and Workplace Expectations
- Follow company, safety, and security procedures at all times.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, accidents, and injuries without delay.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential information.
- Deliver courteous service, anticipate guest needs, and assist guests with disabilities.
- Work to quality standards and look for opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control.
- Perform duties that involve bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and move up and down stairs or service ramps.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should ideally hold a technical, trade, or vocational school qualification and bring at least 2 years of relevant work experience, along with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. No license or certification is required.
