Role Overview
The Environmental Manager will take charge of environmental management initiatives, strengthen compliance practices, and steer sustainability efforts across the business. The position covers environmental risk control, impact assessments, waste reduction, pollution prevention, and ESG-related work, while also encouraging a strong culture of environmental accountability.

Key Responsibilities
- Create and roll out environmental management plans that support the company’s sustainability objectives.
- Make sure operations meet environmental laws, permit conditions, regulations, and relevant international requirements.
- Direct environmental impact studies, audits, and compliance checks.
- Design and improve systems for waste handling, pollution control, recycling, water saving, and efficient use of resources.
- Track emissions, wastewater, hazardous substances, noise levels, and environmental performance data.
- Assess environmental risks and put practical mitigation measures in place.
- Work closely with HSE, operations, engineering, facilities, and project teams to embed best environmental practices.
- Oversee incident management, investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory submissions.
- Support ESG and sustainability reporting, including performance metrics tied to environmental outcomes.
- Run environmental awareness sessions and help build a stronger sustainability culture.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, laboratories, and government or regulatory bodies.
- Prepare leadership updates, dashboards, and strategic environmental recommendations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Ecology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 5 and 10+ years of hands-on experience in environmental management, compliance, sustainability, HSE, or ESG.
- Background in managing environmental programs within manufacturing, construction, energy, utilities, industrial, infrastructure, or similar environments.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and permitting processes.
- Well-developed analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong capabilities in project coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Experience handling audits, site inspections, and interactions with regulatory authorities.
- Comfortable balancing office planning with field inspections and site visits in a hybrid work setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or Business Administration (MBA).
- Professional credentials such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH Environmental Certificate, IEMA, CSP, PMP, or an equivalent certification.
- Experience with environmental data and reporting tools such as Enablon, Intelex, SpheraCloud, Microsoft Power BI, or comparable enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with ESG frameworks, carbon accounting, climate risk, biodiversity, circular economy, and sustainable development.
- Exposure to renewable energy, infrastructure, oil & gas, manufacturing, transportation, mining, or public-sector environmental projects.
- English fluency is mandatory; Arabic and other languages are considered an advantage.
