Position overview
This role is based in Windsor, Ontario, at one of Catalent’s Canadian sites that support softgel development and manufacturing for pharmaceutical and consumer health products. The location provides integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical, and packaging services as part of full-service turnkey solutions.
The Fill Compounder reports to the Production Supervisor and is accountable for preparing and compounding raw materials in line with master formulas and standard operating procedures.
Work schedule and location
- 12-hour continental rotating shifts, covering both days and nights.
- 100% on-site work at the Windsor facility.
Key duties
- Keep equipment and work areas clean, tidy, and well organized.
- Prepare and compound raw materials according to established procedures.
- Verify, measure, and dispense raw materials based on master formula requirements.
- Clean and ready equipment and preparation rooms for batch processing in line with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Drain and deaerate fill material batches when needed, following standard operating procedures.
- Complete all required records and documentation accurately.
- Follow all SOP and GMP requirements consistently.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant should have a high school diploma, GED/CAEC, or an educational credential assessment (ECA) equivalent. Previous experience of at least 1 year in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or GMP-regulated environment is preferred.
This position requires strong numerical ability for basic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and averages. The work involves long periods of standing, close attention to detail, strong accuracy, and effective written and verbal communication along with good interpersonal skills.
Applicants with credentials earned outside Canada must provide an assessment confirming Canadian equivalency from an ACESC-recognized service such as WES. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
The role may involve extended sitting and frequent use of hands and fingers for handling materials and keyboard work, so manual dexterity is important. It may also require standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, along with close vision and possible exposure to chemicals.
Compensation
The starting wage is $25.04 per hour, and the trained rate is $31.30 per hour.
