About Badrgo
Badrgo is a rapidly expanding mobility and ride-hailing business based in Qatar. The company operates across Qatar, the wider GCC, and additional present and future markets, and is now seeking a commercially sharp finance leader to support its next phase of expansion.
Role Overview
This senior leadership position oversees the full finance function for the group. The role brings together financial discipline, strategic planning, fundraising, and expansion support, and reports directly to the COO and the Board of Directors. It plays a central part in shaping major business decisions.
Financial Strategy and Planning
The Finance Director will define and steer the group’s financial direction, aligned with business goals and growth ambitions. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, financial scenario analysis, and modelling for new markets, product launches, and partnerships. The role also involves identifying ways to improve revenue, reduce costs, and strengthen margins.
Growth and Expansion
Working closely with the COO and leadership team, the Finance Director will help assess and execute expansion plans across Qatar and other markets. This includes financial due diligence for new entries, acquisitions, and strategic investments, as well as creating feasibility studies and market-entry models. The position also supports negotiations with partners, regulators, and government bodies, and oversees the financial integration of newly acquired or added entities.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management
The role covers treasury oversight, including liquidity planning, working capital optimisation, and cash flow control. It also includes managing banking relationships, credit lines, and foreign exchange exposure, while ensuring the business has sufficient funding to support operations and growth. Financial risks such as currency, interest rate, and credit exposure must also be monitored and managed.
Leadership and Team Development
The Finance Director will lead, coach, and develop a strong finance team across the group. The role requires promoting accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement, while working cross-functionally with Technology, Operations, Marketing, and Legal to strengthen financial discipline across the organisation. The person in this role will also represent the company in board meetings, investor discussions, and industry forums.
Financial Control and Compliance
All financial reporting across the group must remain accurate, complete, and timely. The role includes supervision of statutory audits, tax compliance, and regulatory filings in Qatar and any other operating jurisdiction. The Finance Director will maintain internal controls, financial policies, and risk frameworks, ensure compliance with IFRS or other applicable local standards, and manage transfer pricing, intercompany activity, and group consolidation.
Fundraising and Investor Relations
This role leads fundraising activity across equity, debt, and venture capital channels. The Finance Director will build and maintain relationships with investors, banks, and strategic partners, and prepare materials such as pitch decks, financial models, term sheets, and due diligence packs. The role also includes investor reporting, board-level finance communication, cap table oversight in coordination with the COO, valuation support, and involvement in M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnership transactions.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should bring at least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership position such as Finance Director or Senior Finance Manager. Backgrounds in high-growth technology, mobility, fintech, startups, or multi-market digital platforms are strongly preferred. Strong experience in financial modelling, valuation, investment analysis, IFRS, governance, and multi-jurisdiction compliance is required. Exposure to GCC markets is important, and familiarity with Qatar Financial Centre regulations is an advantage.
Additional Requirements
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and presentation ability to engage confidently with boards, investors, and regulators. Professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, ACCA, or an equivalent credential are required. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar discipline is needed, and an MBA is preferred.
Preference
Priority will be given to applicants who have worked in fast-growing technology, mobility, fintech, ride-hailing, or other multi-market digital platform environments.
