Role Purpose

The Group Communications Manager supports Digicel’s corporate communications agenda by helping strengthen brand reputation and deliver communications priorities across the Group. The position works within the Group Communications team to execute Group-wide initiatives while also advising and supporting teams across Digicel’s 25 markets.

This is a practical, hands-on position that calls for strong editorial judgement, excellent writing, and solid project coordination skills. The role contributes to internal and external communications, improves Digicel’s external profile, and helps maintain brand consistency across all communication channels.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong grasp of corporate communications, media relations, digital channels, content creation, and internal communications, with the ability to turn business priorities into clear and engaging messages for different audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and deliver internal communication activities that keep employees engaged across all markets.
  • Coordinate major staff engagement programmes such as Town Halls, DIGIcast, Coffee & Conversations, and similar initiatives.
  • Own the weekly Staff Bulletin, gathering input from departments across the Group and ensuring it is published on time.
  • Work with HR on communications that reinforce business priorities, shape culture, and improve employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Group B2B Marketing Manager to draft content for the DB Connect newsletter, which is issued to B2B staff every two months.
  • Review and refine departmental communications so they are clear and aligned with Digicel’s voice and brand standards.
  • Write Group press releases, media statements, executive messages, speeches, Q&As, and other external communications materials.
  • Support media relations by arranging interviews and maintaining media contact lists.
  • Help develop and implement communication plans for corporate announcements, partnerships, events, and business initiatives.
  • Assist with crisis communications through message drafting, stakeholder coordination, and media monitoring.
  • Support local teams with reviewing media statements and other communications needs.
  • Lead the content approach and daily management of the Digicel Group and Digicel Business LinkedIn pages, ensuring alignment with business priorities and brand positioning.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to identify, develop, and curate content that turns milestones and key initiatives into compelling digital stories.
  • Manage editorial planning, copywriting, publishing, and community engagement across both channels.
  • Track channel performance, audience growth, and engagement trends, and provide recommendations to improve impact and visibility.
  • Support executive and corporate thought leadership content to strengthen Digicel’s reputation and market positioning.
  • Ensure all social content follows brand standards, messaging frameworks, and communication objectives.
  • Carry out regular reviews of the corporate website to find outdated content, broken links, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage website content, including SLT and Board biographies and photos, press releases, and ESG materials.
  • Maintain brand consistency by applying Digicel’s standards, messaging framework, and editorial guidelines across all communications.
  • Support the creation of presentations, one-pagers, newsletters, executive briefings, and related communication materials.
  • Contribute to thought leadership by developing content for executives and subject matter experts.
  • Work with internal teams and external agencies to produce content that supports corporate, ESG, and Digicel Business objectives.
  • Serve as a coordination hub between Group Communications and other departments across the business.
  • Build effective working relationships with Group HR, Group Digital, Group Compliance, and Group Security to uncover communication opportunities and support business goals.
  • Keep communication tools and resources current, including content calendars, templates, style guides, messaging frameworks, and shared repositories.
  • Assist with communications for major Group initiatives, campaigns, and strategic projects as needed.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a similar discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, and digital content development.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing ability, with a good command of tone, clarity, and structure.
  • Working familiarity with LinkedIn and basic social publishing tools such as Hootsuite, Sprinklr, or native platform tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, the ability to handle several priorities at once, and a collaborative, proactive working style.
