Information Technology Network Engineer

About the role

This position is for a seasoned IT Network Engineer who will be responsible for shaping, deploying, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and MPLS setups. The job focuses on delivering secure, dependable, and fast connectivity for day-to-day business activity while keeping the environment stable, compliant, and continuously improved.

Core responsibilities

• Plan, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and MPLS environments.
• Maintain secure and dependable internet access with effective access controls and security safeguards.
• Track network health, review logs, and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Oversee network systems, domain access, and administrative functions.
• Create and update network documentation, operational standards, and procedures.
• Assess network performance, identify improvement areas, and propose necessary upgrades.
• Assist with incident handling and ensure alignment with IT policies and ITIL-based practices.
• Work closely with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to support network operations.
• Keep current with new technologies and evolving industry practices.

Experience and technical expectations

• Minimum 7 years of experience in network engineering, IT infrastructure, or a closely related discipline.
• Solid working knowledge of LAN/WAN, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and network security concepts.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Server platforms such as 2003, 2008, and 2012, along with Exchange, IIS, and ISA.
• Exposure to Cisco, HP, and Juniper networking as well as server and storage environments.
• Familiarity with network monitoring solutions and the ITIL framework.
• Strong problem-solving ability, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
• Experience in infrastructure risk assessment and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• MCSE or MCITP certification is required, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP or VMware certification is preferred.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting and Windows Server administration is expected.
