Through discussions, experimentation with new ideas, and rigorous debate, the institute contributes to research and analysis in global governance, foreign policy, diplomacy, culture, and related fields.
Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position in Dubai is for a Lead Editor / Editorial Lead focused on International Affairs & Foreign Policy. The person in this role will direct the creation, refinement, and release of research papers, reports, and articles while keeping editorial quality aligned with the institute’s goals. The role requires close coordination with researchers, writers, communications teams, and design staff, along with ownership of editorial planning, tone, consistency, and timely publication.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and continuously improve a full editorial plan that supports the institute’s research agenda and overall institutional voice.
- Edit, proofread, and verify all written material for accuracy, clarity, consistency, structure, and influence.
- Identify and commission relevant publications in response to important regional and international developments.
- Direct editorial projects end to end, including partnerships, residencies, and working groups.
- Oversee editorial aspects of fellowships connected to the institute’s output.
- Ensure that every publication meets strong editorial standards, with accurate facts and intellectual rigor, including related communications materials.
- Execute the editorial calendar and manage the production and release of content across formats such as policy briefs, essays, and emerging formats.
- Support internal and external researchers and fellows in strengthening the storytelling quality and policy relevance of their work.
- Run the editorial workflow and liaise with researchers, communications colleagues, and outside contributors.
- Manage freelance editors, translators, and graphic designers when required.
- Develop and refresh style rules and editorial guidelines on an ongoing basis.
- Seek out and commission guest contributors such as academics, policymakers, and practitioners, and edit their submissions to fit institutional standards and themes.
- Handle editorial needs tied to client work, sponsorship proposals, and the institute’s communication materials.
- All editorial work is carried out in English.

This is a full-time onsite role based in Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The position is focused on editorial leadership for international affairs and foreign policy content.
