Role Overview
The Maintenance Worker supports day-to-day upkeep of buildings, equipment, and related facilities. This role involves preventive maintenance, small repair work, basic troubleshooting, and assisting with renovation and supply-handling tasks. The position is based in Regina, Saskatchewan and is an on-site full-time role.
Key Duties
- Carry out preventive maintenance for relevant equipment and complete minor to moderate repairs such as work on vehicles, faucets, toilets, and light fixtures.
- Support small renovation jobs, including drywall work, minor electrical fixes, painting, and plumbing tasks.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for building systems.
- Help prepare specifications for tenders and observe the quality of work completed by outside contractors or maintenance staff.
- Receive, store, and distribute supplies to the appropriate departments.
- Handle food pickups and deliveries, along with other delivery-related tasks.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
Education
A high school education is required. An alternative combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Experience
Applicants should have between one and less than three years of related experience. This should include custodial work, computer skills, and general repair experience such as electrical and plumbing tasks.
Physical and Mental Requirements
The role calls for the use of industrial testing equipment and tools, painting and plastering work, bending, twisting, lifting, occasional ladder use, and fine motor control when handling small equipment in confined areas. It also requires frequent use of fine motor skills and moderate concentration when reading equipment manuals for safe operating instructions.
Financial and People Responsibilities
The position includes limited responsibility for minor financial matters and the careful use of resources. The worker may occasionally handle, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash, with little influence over the annual budget. Responsibility for people is limited to managing one’s own time and work effort, though the role may involve showing work methods to new employees, volunteers, or students.
Compensation
The target hiring range for this role is $18.57 to $20.98, with a maximum rate of $21.61. Placement within the range depends on market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications. A separate compensation note also states a target range of $19.12 to $20.37, with the same maximum of $21.61.
