About BNZ
Bank of New Zealand offers more than traditional banking. The business operates in a collaborative, energetic setting where teams are encouraged to build innovative solutions and shape a better future for customers and colleagues. The environment supports wellbeing, flexible ways of working, generous leave, and ongoing learning and career growth. The role sits within a team focused on embedding customer relationship management capability across the sales and service functions so that both customer and colleague experiences improve.
About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Auckland. The role follows a hybrid pattern with three days in the office and two days available for flexible working.
What You Will Do
- Work with key stakeholders to uncover gaps in relationship management capability and help close them.
- Create and roll out training, support materials, and enablement activities.
- Assist with change initiatives that encourage adoption of new ways of working.
- Collaborate with technology and design specialists to ensure solutions align with business needs.
- Monitor uptake, collect insights, and contribute to ongoing improvement.
Team Environment
The team is described as high-trust, encouraging, and fast-paced. People work openly, support one another, and respond quickly and practically to challenges. Team members are trusted to take ownership, work at pace, and stay focused on outcomes for customers, colleagues, and the bank.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this position, you should bring experience in financial services product management, project management, or a similar business role. You need a solid understanding of customer relationship management processes, plus proven change management experience and familiarity with contemporary change approaches. The role also calls for a systems-thinking mindset, a track record of implementation, the ability to balance long-term priorities with immediate demands, and strong communication skills for engaging senior stakeholders.
Preferred Background
Project management qualifications or accreditations are desirable. Experience working with platforms such as Salesforce CRM, particularly Financial Services Cloud, would also be an advantage. Salesforce credentials are preferred but not mandatory.
Personal Attributes
The ideal person is curious, eager to learn, and willing to challenge existing approaches constructively. They should be self-driven, forward-looking, and comfortable using creative thinking to solve problems. Strong stakeholder management is important, along with the ability to connect work across programmes and streams, think strategically, and understand how day-to-day actions support wider customer, colleague, and business outcomes.
Leadership Style
The hiring leader describes their approach as high-trust and outcome-oriented. They focus on giving clarity on goals, offering the right support, and allowing people space to deliver in their own way. They plan carefully, prioritise methodically, and place strong emphasis on great customer and colleague experiences, open communication, practical problem-solving, and a supportive team culture.
Additional Information
BNZ positions itself as a bold, people-focused organisation that values teamwork and meaningful contribution. Applications may be reviewed throughout the advertising period, and the role can be closed early if needed.
