Role overview
This is a senior manufacturing leadership position in Auckland, focused on running a busy 24/7 production environment with a strong emphasis on people leadership, coaching, and operational discipline. The role is formally named Line Leader, but its scope is that of a Production Manager. You will guide a group of Shift Leads, with support from Process and Technical Leads, and will have indirect responsibility for around 60 production employees.
Your main objective will be to strengthen leadership across the operation, improve accountability, lift performance, and create operational excellence through effective team development.
What you will be doing
- Lead and develop Shift Leads and other frontline leaders so they can perform at a higher standard.
- Support a high-performing manufacturing operation in a fast-paced, continuous production setting.
- Build a culture of accountability, consistency, and strong day-to-day execution.
- Improve team performance by coaching leaders and driving better operational habits.
- Influence the effectiveness and culture of a production team of roughly 60 people.
- Work with Process and Technical Leads to support production outcomes.
What the employer is looking for
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing is essential, preferably in food production.
- Strong background in leading leaders and improving team performance.
- Experience overseeing large operational teams, ideally with indirect leadership of 50 or more staff.
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to raise standards.
- Experience or exposure in engineering, process management, or production.
- Knowledge of IWS (Integrated Work Systems) is a strong advantage.
