Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Proposal Manager position based in Sharjah, Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on managing the complete bid and proposal cycle for steel structure and process package projects, from tender review through submission and follow-up. The selected person will coordinate technical and commercial information, build competitive and compliant proposals, and work closely with engineering, fabrication, procurement, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Proposal Manager will review tender documents, assess project scope, and track bid opportunities. The role requires organizing proposal timelines, collecting and validating inputs from internal departments, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring all submissions align with company capabilities and applicable industry requirements. The position also involves maintaining proposal files, templates, and documentation, as well as supporting client clarifications, negotiations, and ongoing improvements to proposal tools and processes to strengthen success rates.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should bring strong experience in bid and proposal coordination for engineering and fabrication work, including technical and commercial proposal preparation. They should be comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams to develop accurate estimates, schedules, and proposal content. A practical understanding of steel structures, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and related process equipment is important, especially in ASME, ISO, and NB-regulated settings. Strong technical writing, document structuring, and presentation ability are required, along with proficiency in MS Office and relevant estimating or proposal tools. Familiarity with international codes such as ASME and API, plus knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 systems, will be valuable. The role also calls for strong analytical thinking, numerical accuracy, attention to detail, problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines while communicating effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Education Requirement
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
