Role overview

Tata Consultancy Services is conducting a walk-in drive for an SAP Basis professional in Kochi on 4 July 2026. This position is intended for experienced SAP specialists who can help maintain the stability, performance, and availability of business-critical systems across multiple landscapes.

The role sits at the core of SAP delivery and requires hands-on support across production and non-production environments, along with coordination with technical and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of administration and support for SAP environments across production, test, development, and other landscapes.
• Track system health, availability, uptime, capacity, and overall performance, and carry out tuning or improvement actions where needed.
• Handle SAP HANA administration, including monitoring, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, backup and restore support, memory analysis, and performance optimization.
• Manage transport activities, client copies, system refreshes, and ongoing maintenance across multiple SAP landscapes.
• Support SAP platforms and components such as ECC, BW, Portal, PI/PO, GRC, Gateway/Fiori, Solution Manager, SLD, and HANA databases.
• Provide L2/L3 support for incidents, production issues, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate SAP changes, upgrades, patches, planned maintenance, and other system support tasks.
• Maintain clear documentation for landscape details, configurations, reports, design notes, and operating procedures.
• Work closely with functional consultants, ABAP teams, infrastructure teams, database teams, cloud teams, security teams, and business stakeholders.
• Adapt to different SAP projects and domains based on business needs.

Required experience and competencies

• 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in SAP Basis administration.
• Strong background in ensuring performance, uptime, and reliability for enterprise SAP systems.
• Practical experience supporting production as well as test and development environments.
• Solid working knowledge of SAP HANA administration, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and backup/restore setup.
• Understanding of system monitoring, health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Exposure to Azure or other public cloud environments is preferred.
• Experience with SAP system landscapes including ECC, HANA, Portal, BW, PI/PO, CPS, GRC, Gateway/Fiori, Solution Manager, and SLD.
• SAP HANA certification or SAP Basis/HANA certification will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of SAP ABAP will be beneficial.
• Exposure to S/4HANA, system upgrades, migrations, cloud hosting, high availability, disaster recovery, and security administration is desirable.
• Experience with SAP monitoring tools, Solution Manager, transport tools, job monitoring, spool administration, and user administration is desirable.
• Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, communication, and ownership mindset are important for success in this role.

Candidates must have a valid EP number before the interview. If an EP number has not been created, registration is required before proceeding. Applicants are also expected to complete the application form and download it for the interview process.

Interview attendees should carry the following documents in hard copy: latest resume, TCS application form, original and photocopy of a government ID proof such as PAN or Aadhaar, and two passport-size photographs.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to candidates with a BE, B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc., or MS degree, provided they have at least 3 years of relevant IT experience after qualification. Only full-time courses are considered. Candidates who have attended a TCS interview in the last 1 month should not apply.
