Senior Structural Engineer – Hydel Design

About the Role

This position focuses on structural engineering for hydropower design work. The role involves planning, coordinating, monitoring, and driving the engineering output for key hydro project components, including powerhouse structures, intake and outlet structures, and water tunnels. It is based in Faridabad, India.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the design and drawing workflow for hydropower structures and related components.
• Handle structural design work for powerhouse facilities, including turbine foundations, substructure, superstructure, control block, and gantry beam.
• Review designs and manage coordination with electromechanical contractors.
• Prepare engineering calculations while considering different construction stages of the powerhouse.
• Deliver designs that are practical to build and compliant with client, operations, maintenance, and construction needs.
• Suggest alternatives and design improvements that can optimize the solution or support site execution.
• Draft monthly activity reports.
• Develop design basis reports, calculation notes, general arrangement drawings, and reinforced concrete detailing drawings.
• Coordinate across disciplines to keep all engineering inputs aligned.
• Maintain clear communication between project management, design, construction, and other internal/external stakeholders.
• Work closely with clients and PMC teams, responding to technical queries and supporting timely approvals.
• Coordinate with designers or consultants, track progress, and ensure drawings and design documents are delivered on schedule.
• Align with the site team on engineering solutions for continued design development.
• Take part in project review and milestone meetings.
• Support and lead tender preparation within deadlines, interpret customer requirements, identify risks, and present work to senior management.
• Continuously review and improve the overall program strategy.
• Ensure engineering output follows defined processes, client values, quality systems, and project quality procedures.
• Guide, supervise, and mentor engineering team members while supporting their development.
• Use strong time management to meet project timelines.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering.
