Shift Brewer

Role overview

The Shift Brewer will oversee brewery operations during the assigned shift and make sure production, filtration, and quality targets are achieved in line with the planned schedule. This role also supports process upgrades, safety practices, housekeeping standards, and coordination across internal teams.

Planning and shift coordination

• Arrange material requirements from stores according to the day’s production plan.
• Coordinate overtime and leave planning with the brewing manager.
• Support the brewing manager in building process-improvement maps.
• Contribute to improvements in housekeeping and safety practices.

Production and process control

• Monitor smooth brewing, processing, and beer filtration during the shift while meeting defined quality standards and required output volumes.
• Keep beer losses within the permitted limits at different stages of production.
• Track and reduce raw material wastage.
• Work on lowering filter aid usage through better process control.

Safety and workplace standards

• Spot operational safety risks and report them for action through the brewing manager.
• Ensure protective equipment is provided to workers and consistently used on shift.

Key interactions

Internal contacts include the brewing manager, maintenance engineer, packaging executives, QA executives, and the stores in-charge. External coordination may be required with vendors and suppliers.

Qualification and experience

Applicants should have a BSc in Chemistry or Microbiology. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the brewing industry is preferred. Strong learning ability, agility, and communication skills will be an advantage. Ability to understand Hindi and English, in addition to vernacular languages, is preferred.
